i started my musical activities being the bass player with a belgian trash indus band called noise gate, which released 3 lp/cd and made tens of concerts across europe between 1988 and 1993. After that experience, my interest for sound took a more experimental and electronic character. currently: using akai sampler, g4 with protools, powerbook, miscellaneous softwares and microphones, minidisc part in martiensgohome (http://www.constantvzw.com/mgh), a two members collective realizing for almost ten years a weekly radio program of improvised electronic soundscapes and that has made numerous concerts, installations or performances, alone or collaborating with choregraphers and dancers (Frédéric Flament, Erna Omarsdottir, Riina saastamoinen…), plastic artists (Didier Leemans, Catherine Evrard…), movie makers…
my work is based on digital material and processed location recordings. numerous performances, solo, with martiensgohome (listing on http://www.aeki.be/past.htm) or other musicians (concerts, radio improvisations or workshops with between others Francisco Lopez, John Butcher, Steve Gibbs,…)

grey area/zoning, a long term project with martiensgohome, Arnaud Jacobs and Johan Vandermaelen; its subject is this suburban zones of industrial, commercial or residential development, the actual action of land-use planning, and the attribution on a portion of territory of one and only one function.
at a time when standard ideas about what music should be have collapsed, technology allows our noise environment to become an area for musical practice. the modern acoustic environment is often considered in our culture as a form of pollution. it is mainly made of machines and devices; this situation breaks with centuries when men knew only the sounds of nature. adopting the standpoint according to which these artificial noises are valuable, my work is based on our everyday-life sound environment considered as an abstract material. working with the idea that sound texture is the base of the musical piece, i use sampling and field recordings to create and superimpose variously abstract layers.
